Our pastor has been teaching us through Colossians, and today he spent quite a bit of time unpacking the verse in Ch. 2 that talks about believers being “knit together” in our love for Christ. Yes, yes, yes!

Because every bridge isn’t a battle and maybe we should lay down our swords and meet in the middle.”

Such good words, Lisha. Thank you for sharing them. And thank you for providing us all with this place to meet.

This is a good thought for me today. haven’t been linking lately. we made a trip to PA for a second memorial service for my dad. He grew up there, and still has relatives and long time friends. I have a post brewing of that experience. no surprise there I suppose! it made it into my journal so far!

finding our way in our new world with out caregiving. my son is moving his family cross country from PA to Portland OR. three times as far (we live in NW suburbs of Chicago) and three times as expensive to get there. this is a hard one for me….i support them in this move, but it doesn’t change how it feels!

As always, good to be here with you.

Also loved the piece about you that you linked to! There is so much more that connects us than divides us if we will just give one another the grace to listen…to learn…to discover…to find the areas of commonality. We don’t have to agree on everything – how boring would that be? But we can love one another anyway. In fact we must.

That we should meet on the bridge of connection, lay down our swords of differences and share an amen, allow grace to work through us. Love that! What a beautiful image to start the day with today.

Very powerful. “He’s given us the job of loving each other well.” We so often want to know God’s will. That is it right there – love each other well. I have often thought the things we make such a big deal over on this side of heaven, won’t matter at all on the other side. Blessings!
